Thursday, May 22th: La Petite Ecole Bilingue

The Petite Ecole Bilingue de Bordeaux is part of the Stewart International School network and promotes an educational program that has been used for 40 years in Paris and London.

Based on 4 cornerstones: social development, academic success, thinking globally and caring for emotions the school will open in Bordeaux in the Fall 2017. They will offer English immersion activities and teach love of learning, tolerance, diversity and inclusion.

Visit their website here.

Thursday, April 27th: LICRA

People from the LICRA will organize an activity to speak about who they are and what they fight for.

"La Licra est l’une des plus anciennes associations de lutte contre le racisme au monde. Héritière d’une tradition humaniste, apolitique et laïque, elle est en première ligne dans tous les combats contre la haine. "

"The Licra is one of the oldest association in the world fighting racism. Inspired by a humanist, non-political and secular tradition, it the one in the forefront of struggles against hatred."

Thursday, March 30th: Assemblée Générale Ordinaire (A.G.O.)

For members only who duly paid their subscription.

Your presence is important, indeed, you will be given an account of all the events BDX-USA did, the state of the finance and what are the upcoming projects you will have to vote for or against.

If you can't come, you can still vote if you give a "pouvoir" to someone who will be present.

October 13th: Mock Election

Few elections are heating and crucial like the 2016’s American election. Who will win, Republican Donald Trump or Democrat Hillary Clinton?

If the media and some of the foreign politicians such as Hollande or Sarkozy made clear they would like to see the former First Lady sitting in the Oval Office, American citizens, the only ones legitimate to vote, seem to think differently.

Once again, BDX-USA was there to hoist the colors of the club. This time we stood outside to give the medals to all, yes all, the runners to congratulate them for doing the marathon, half-marathon and relay-marathon.

Fortunately the weather was fine (even if it was rather humid as we were near the river). But it did not matter! The volunteers and our group warmed-up the atmosphere by laughing, cheering and shaking the wades of medals (gosh, it did sound like Christmas bells).

November 26th, 2015: Thanksgiving

Just 2 weeks before the event, we had to change our venue for our traditional Thanksgiving Dinner. However, we did not let that dampen our spirits! With a grand effort of our members & friends we transformed the Association into our 'home' for the evening. Another great night of sharing Franco-American friendship to add to our memory book!

And because Thanksgiving is a time to say "thank you"

Marathon de la Lune

April 18, BDX-USA took part in the 1st marathon de la lune of Bordeaux. Volunteers - Andrée, Armand, Concetta, Danièle, Kevin, Richard & Yann- served food to firemen, policemen and all the volunteers who help along the route.
Despite a shortage of bread, we try to feed everyone in a good ambiance. We met friendly people and who know some of them may join us!

The team preparing at the Association at 17h.Trying on the colors...aller! Here's to Franco-American friendship!
