Thursday, February 22nd - Anne Pérotin-Dumon presents: The Enigma of Arrival

.  Anne and her North-American husband, Alexander Wilde, arrived in Chile in 1992, just after the end of its long military dictatorship (1973-1990). They lived and worked there most of the following decade and a half, until 2008.

Her talk will deal with her changing perception of the country over time and how an immersion in this national experience deepened her awareness of the marks it left on Chileans’ minds and their land.

Anne is a retired archivist and historian who was born in Bordeaux. Her life and work in Chile followed twelve years in the United States. She and Alexander divide their time between Bordeaux and Northern Virginia.
