Thursday 27th: Goat Lab Furniture - Sustainable and Quality Craftsmanship

This evening we're going to learn about making environmentally friendly furniture from craftsman Mayuka. He will tell us how he came to have a business here in la Gironde after being a researcher in London.

Mayuka, born in Sri-Lanka and raised in London, is a master cabinetmaker at Goat Lab Furniture, where he designs both contemporary and timeless pieces of furniture influenced by Knoll, Le Corbusier and the Bahaus movement, as well as others.

After learning his trade in London and creating a cabinetmaking company in Sri Lanka, he came back to France to open his workshop in the "Pépinière d'Entreprise d'Eco-construction" located in Floirac.

He enjoys working with Douglas fir and oak wood as well as other types from trees that grow in the Aquitaine region and the European Union. No matter which type of wood he uses he chooses sustainable sources.
