Bordeaux-USA provides to residents of Gironde the opportunity to share Franco-American friendship, culture and ideas through English-speaking events and our Library in the heart of Bordeaux.
We can try for FREE to take part to one talk (Thursday evening 7:00 pm) OR one conversation hour (see 'Practice your English' tab).

Thursday, January 11th: What inspires an illustrator?

Charlie Padgett is an American expat that has been living in France for nearly ten years now. He is an award winning freelance illustrator and graphic designer. His work has appeared in magazines & journals, and on beer labels & record covers. Charlie has also self-published two children’s books. A third one is due out in 2018, which is a collaboration with a hip-hop duo called The Corner.

More about him at BDX-Expats here:

He will be speaking about his life as a freelance illustrator, (which is the process of creating artwork that needs to communicate specific concepts or ideas), and how that differs from just making art for the sake of art.

He will touch on how he goes about creating the images and where he finds his inspiration. If time allows, he will also talk about the power of imagination.
